Buying a boat can be an intimidating
experience. It could also cost you a lot of money in the long run if you are not
sure what to look for with a purchase of a pre-owned boat. We can help assure
the boat is mechanically sound as has been taken care of properly. Grand Sport
Center, Inc. has over 40 years of experience in service and evaluations of
pre-owned boats. We have O.E.M. certified technicians with certified diagnostic
tools. Whether you’re looking for a simple mechanical inspection, complete
service, computer scan, or evaluation we can do it all!
Our basic inspection starts with a full fluid inspection checking for levels and
contamination. We then check all the electrical systems on the boat for proper
operation. This includes a complete load test on the battery system, gauges,
lights, stereo, bilge, blower, and any other electrical components. We will
follow up with a mechanical dynometer test. This will put a full load on engine
and drive components and allow you to hear and see the engine’s operation at
full RPMs. We will then present you a printout with the complete checklist,
dynometer pressure, and RPM data.
This service is available for $275.00.
We also offer a complete computer/diagnostic scan of E.F.I. products. This will
include a complete diagnostic printout which will show:
- Complete engine hour including: total engine hors and engine hours per RPM
range
- Diagnostic codes and error code history. This also includes a description of
the fault and hours on the engine and when the fault was activated.
- All current data streams and default values including: total RPMs, max RPMs,
idle RPMs, temperature, oil pressure, IAC values, and etc.
- Customer name, serial numbers, and model numbers are all included with your
printout. This makes an excellent way to start a service history record for your
boat.
This service is available for an additional $120.00.
Our Flagship Inspection service is the best peace of mind you can get with the
purchase of your pre-owned product. We will do everything included in the basic
service, EFI computer scan and printout, and complete 100 hour/annual service.
This service is based upon a manufacturer’s yearly recommended service. After
completion of the basic inspection and computer scan, we will change the engine
and drive fluids. All applicable filters will be changed including fuel filters
and oil filters. The cooling system will be inspected and checked for
deterioration, damage, and proper torque on all connections. The entire motor
and drive package will be inspected and checked for any loose, missing, or
damaged parts. We will then check the shift and throttle cables to ensure they
are adjusted correctly. The steering system will be inspected and lubricated.
All of the belts on the engine are then inspected for proper fit and adjusted as
needed. At this time, the stern drive will be removed from the boat. With the
drive removed, we will be inspecting for proper engine alignment, coupler wear,
proper gimbal ring torque and lubrication of the gimal bearing. Engine exhaust
will be inspected and PCV will be changed if applicable to your motor. The motor
mounts are then inspected for proper torque and the lubrication is changed in
the seawater pumps with mounted fuel pumps.
This service is available for $799.99.
This total includes basic inspection and computer scan.
